EAST MIDLANDS OSM DONATES £2,800 TO LOROS

Updated: Jun 22

7th November 2025. A cheque for £2,800 was presented to LOROS Hospice, Leicester, by the Province of the East Midlands for the Order of the Secret Monitor (OSM), supported by a match-funding grant from the OSM Benevolent Fund.

LOROS, the Leicestershire and Rutland Organisation for the Relief of Suffering, operates a Day Therapy Centre in Leicester for patients with terminal illnesses, among other vital services. As part of its ongoing commitment to compassionate care, LOROS is currently replacing several Syringe Drivers: small, portable devices that deliver continuous medication to individuals unable to take oral tablets. These devices are essential in managing symptoms such as pain and nausea, offering consistent relief and greatly enhancing comfort during end-of-life care.

This donation from OSM East Midlands and the OSM Benevolent Fund will enable LOROS to purchase two Syringe Drivers, directly supporting their mission to provide dignified and effective palliative care.

The cheque was presented at LOROS Hospice by Ray Ellis, the Head of the OSM for the East Midlands, accompanied by his deputy Robin Gray, Paul Howard, his Treasurer.
