Belper Conclave No.628 Welcomes New Members

Monday 3rd August 2026 – Belper Masonic Hall

Belper Conclave No.628 enjoyed a memorable evening on Monday 3rd August as people gathered to welcome several new members into the Order of the Secret Monitor.

The meeting began with Neil Temple becoming a joining member of the Conclave. Neil is already an active OSM member in Nottinghamshire Conclave No.166, and the members of Belper were delighted to extend their friendship to him.

The evening continued with Stephen Dawson leading the team through a warm and sincere Induction Ceremony for Stephen Lawrence, a Master Mason of the Lodge of St John, which also meets in Belper. The ceremony was carried out with great care, reflecting the values and support that lie at the heart of the Order.

A key part of every OSM meeting is the work of the Visiting Deacons, whose duty is to ensure the welfare of all members. The Deacons of Belper Conclave fulfilled their role admirably, offering thoughtful reports and reinforcing the Order’s commitment to genuine care and friendship.

The Conclave was also honoured by the presence of Ray Ellis, Head of the Order for the East Midlands, who was pleased to attend and spend time with both long‑standing members and those newly welcomed into the Order.
